Board members corner - does your chair keep a diary?

Being a chair of a housing organisation has always been important, but never more so than now with the Tenant Services Authority's (TSA) new Co-regulatory Framework. Most chairs work extremely hard for the organisation and more than half are still not paid. It is also clear that what chairs do is still modestly kept under wraps. If you go to the web and key in ‘Chairman's diary' you get some really interesting entries about the work of chairs of district council such as Harlow's mayor at www.harlow.gov.uk

Sadly chairs of Housing Organisations rarely do (if ever) keep a diary and rarely put it on line. We believe chairs should consider disclosing their dairy of events and meetings so that staff and tenants can see how hard they work. A diary also demonstrates the great commitment chairs give to their housing organisations.
