Paul Bassett

Paul has over 15 years health & safety experience and worked in the housing, charity and heritage sectors including Metropolitan Housing Partnership, English Heritage and Shelter. He is a chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health and has completed the leadership and development programme with the Institute of Leadership and Management. He has extensive experience in:

Working closely with senior management and board members
Developing and delivering inspirational training
Engaging staff an developing a positive health & safety culture
Providing strong leadership, managing and motivating people
Developing and implementing/embedding health & safety management systems
Leading health & safety on major capital investment and CDM projects
Providing health & safety advice and supporting staff
Ensuring security and business continuity

He works with boards and senior management to build relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and partners to ensure safety success. His approach to health & safety is balanced, considers the operational risks/people affected and the organisational context in which the organisation/sector operates.  He is always conscious that safety decisions are made in a public context and that safety failures can lead to serious reputational damage which may never be recovered from.

Outside of work Paul enjoys trips to the coast with his wife and 3 young children and listening to an eclectic mix of music on his record player.
